What is Google Bowling?

Google Bowling is online dirty business, It's Black Hat technique in SEO used to knock competitors down or out of search engine results. It represents a gaping flaw in Google's system that allows your competitors to sabotage your site to the point of getting it banned or penalized. It is a small loophole is called that Google bowling. It is a reverse SEO technique which is used for increasing yours rank and decreasing the competitors rank. It is a form of SEO sabotage that is conducted by pointing hundreds of questionable links from low quality sites at a competitor's site so they end up banned or penalized by Google. Generally newer sites are more susceptible to Google Bowling as older sites are better established with a range of existing high quality links.

This practice began when Google started penalizing sites that purchase site- wide text link ads to get lots of incoming links in a hurry. Unscrupulous webmasters realized that this could be used against competitor sites by linking to them instead of their own site. Google claim they have measures in place to prevent this practice from unfairly damaging a site's Page-Rank.

By studying what types of ranking manipulations a search engine is punishing, a company can provoke a search engine into lowering the ranking of a competitor's website. This practice, known as Google bowling, is often done by purchasing Google bombing services (or other SEO techniques) not for one's own website, but rather for the website of the competitor. The attacker provokes the search company into punishing the "offending" competitor by displaying their page further down in the search results. For victims of Google bowling, it may be difficult to appeal the ranking decrease because Google avoids explaining penalties, preferring not to "educate" real offenders. However if the situation is clear-cut, Google could lift the penalty after submitting a request for reconsideration.

Google Bowling is a negative term, which refers to a technique that can be used to undermine your competitors by actually linking to their web sites using appropriate anchor text. As the definition suggests it is not something an ethical online business would do. But what makes it interesting is the fact that according to Google this cannot be done.

What is Link Juice?

Link juice is the currency of Google. In other words, it’s the secret sauce that allows you to beat your competitors for rankings in Google. Sure, there are some other factors that Google uses to calculate rankings, but link juice is by far the most important aspect of dominating Google and in order to understand Google, you have to understand link juice.

Getting backlinks to a site is an important part of the search engine optimization (SEO) process and helping a site get all its pages indexed in the search engines and ranking well in them. Link Juice is the term used for how much benefit a link passes on, as not all links are equal. The term was first coined by a web marketing consultant, Greg Boser. Google’s version of link juice, is approximately the same as PageRank and Bing have Page Score, but it is not known how much the link juice factors into this score.

The SEO term 'link juice' refers to the search engine 'trust' and page rank conveyed by a link from one site to another. A site with high 'trust' or page rank provides more link juice than one that doesn't.
For example, a link from a popular Wikipedia page provides more link juice than a link from a brand new site. Why? Because Wikipedia has a lot of trust and high pagerank in the search engines.

In SEO the aim is to secure inbound contextual links from external sites that have established search engine Trust and high page rank. This transfers some of that trust and page rank to the site being linked to. SEO guys call this Link Juice.
